Last Day

How sad! My first time being a co-CI (clinical instructor) and already 6 weeks has just flown by so quickly. Today is Katelyn's last day with Lisa and I on ortho. Now the only person missing in this photo is Katie, who I sincerely hope is recovering from Tuesday's incidents. I know none of it was my fault, but I still feel terrible to have contributed to putting the PTA out of commission :(

"Moments" to remember...

...touring the unit on her first day and walk by a confused patient's room only to jump not once but twice at the sudden full-on screaming inside. Later we found out the patient was complaining of the nurse's cold hands :S

...getting a call at 8:20am saying that I am slotted in for an all-day TLR workshop that starts at 8am...and taking Katelyn with me!

..."Katelyn, you're not getting paid...don't wait around for 4pm, go home!" :) I wish I could say that to myself =P

...planning the evals with Lisa, then making plans for how we can give Katelyn a better caseload for experience... and then having surgeries, sick days, snow days, etc. mess it all up =P Seriously, you can never plan out a day there!

...borrowing Katelyn's snowshoes for Mom's visit!

...going around the hospital with Katelyn is like going around Kingston with Jen Tam - she knows everyone!! Even her mom works there :)

To my first PT Student ever! (And from Queen's to boot!) I am sure she'll be a wonderful physio ;)

********
On a completely unrelated note... after accidentally rotating the screen with my lazy, pudgy hands, I googled to troubleshoot my dilemma and discovered that ctrl+alt+arrow in Vista will rotate the screen 90 degrees! On the same forum that helped me figure this out was a comment made by another user... "thank you!!! my cat sat on my computer and rotated the screen. how awful!!" lol. I immediately thought of Mr. Schrodo...
